Which bracket should you choose?
The bracket is what moves the price, so choose it on your room rather than your budget. Prices below are for the 130 × 40 cm bag:
- 2ft Fixed — £472.51. Tight garages and narrow rooms where you work the bag straight on.
- 3ft Folding — £498.50. Folds flat when you are not training. The right answer if the room has another job during the week.
- 1.25m Elite — £618. 150kg maximum load, 500kg-rated stainless swivel, D-shackle included, and enough projection for full 360-degree footwork around the bag.
- Retractable — £738.80. For spaces where the bag has to disappear completely between sessions.
Which glove weight?
16oz if you intend to spar — the usual requirement at UK clubs. 14oz for heavier adults on the bag. 12oz for most adults doing bag and pad work only.
What wall do you need?
A solid, structural wall — brick, block or properly reinforced stud. Never plasterboard alone. A swinging 50kg bag generates far more load than its static weight, which is why the Elite bracket is rated to 150kg rather than 50kg. Check what is behind the plaster before you order.
