Why a ski trainer

A ski trainer reproduces the double-pole action of Nordic skiing: you pull down and through with both arms while hinging at the hips. It is the most upper-body-dominant cardio machine you can buy, and one of very few that trains the lats, triceps and trunk hard while still being a genuine conditioning workout.

  • Smallest footprint of any full-size cardio machine. A ski trainer occupies roughly the floor area of a doormat, because you stand still and only the handles move. In a garage or spare-room gym that is often the deciding factor.
  • Zero impact, standing. Unlike a rower you are on your feet, so it loads the trunk and hips through a standing hinge — useful carryover for anyone who lifts.
  • Complements a rower rather than duplicating it. A rower drives from the legs; a ski trainer drives from the arms and trunk. Gyms that own both use them for very different sessions.

Wall-mounted or free-standing?

Ski trainers are usually fixed to a wall, which costs nothing in floor space but does need a solid wall and a permanent position. A floor stand makes the machine free-standing and movable instead — the Attack Fitness floor stand option is listed separately above at £300.00. Check the product page for exactly what each listing includes before ordering, and contact us if you are unsure which configuration you need.

What is a ski trainer?

A ski trainer is a cardio fitness machine that simulates the motion of Nordic skiing, delivering a full-body, low-impact workout that targets both upper and lower body muscles.

Are ski trainers good for home gyms?

Yes! Ski trainers are compact, space-efficient, and provide intense cardio, making them ideal for home gym setups.

What are the benefits of using a ski trainer?

Ski trainers offer high-calorie burn, improved cardiovascular fitness, full-body strength training, and are gentle on joints, making them suitable for users of all fitness levels.

Do you stock ski trainers for commercial use?

Absolutely. We offer commercial-grade ski trainers from top brands like MYO Strength and Concept2, designed for gyms, studios, and rehab facilities.

How much space do I need for a ski trainer?

Ski trainers have a small footprint, making them a great option for limited spaces such as garages, spare rooms, or compact commercial setups.

Is a ski trainer good for weight loss?

Yes. Due to its high-intensity, full-body nature, a ski trainer is an excellent tool for burning calories and fat loss when used regularly.

Are ski trainers suitable for beginners?

Yes. Most ski trainers have adjustable resistance, allowing beginners to start easy and progress as they build strength and endurance.

What muscles does a ski trainer work?

A ski trainer engages the core, legs, glutes, arms, back, and shoulders, making it one of the most effective total-body workouts.

Do ski trainers require electricity?

Most ski trainers are self-powered and do not require electricity, which adds to their convenience for home and off-grid setups.

Do you offer delivery and setup?

Yes, we provide UK-wide delivery and can arrange professional installation to ensure your ski trainer is ready to use right away.
