Jacobs Ladder climbers — JL and JLX
Pro Gym Essentials supplies the Jacobs Ladder range to UK home gyms, performance facilities and commercial gym floors. Jacobs Ladder is a quote-only range: both machines are quoted for your site rather than priced at checkout.

How it works
A continuous ladder set at roughly 40° that you climb on hands and feet, wearing a waist belt that controls the speed. There is no speed dial and no programme: climb faster and the ladder moves faster, stop and it stops. The machine runs entirely at your pace.
Why it is used in rehabilitation and tactical training
Because you climb on all fours and lean into the ladder, bodyweight is shared between hands and feet instead of compressing the spine. Combined with the complete absence of landing impact, that makes a Jacobs Ladder one of the few genuinely hard cardio machines that stays viable for people who cannot run — which is why they are standard in rehabilitation clinics, military selection and tactical training facilities as well as commercial gyms.
It also needs less ceiling height than a stepmill, because you climb at an angle rather than standing on a raised step. In a garage or basement gym that is often the deciding factor.
JL or JLX — which do you need?
The JL is fixed at 40°. The JLX lets you change the angle, which alters the difficulty independently of your climbing speed. For a single user training alone, the JL does everything you need. For a facility, a mixed-ability group, or rehabilitation work where the load has to be dialled down and progressively increased, the adjustment is the entire point of the machine.
