The head geometry is the reason to choose these
The rubber ends are wider without being longer. That means you can perform full close-compact pressing — chest presses, floor presses, close-grip work — without the ends forcing your hands wider than the movement wants. On a long-headed dumbbell that is simply not possible, and most people never work out why their close-grip press feels wrong.
Which configuration should you buy?
Size it to your members, not your best lifter. 2.5–20kg suits a studio or class floor. 2.5–30kg covers a PT studio. 2.5–50kg is the working range of a commercial free-weights area. 2.5–80kg at £13,440 is a strength-focused or athlete-facing facility — above 50kg you are equipping a small number of users, so be honest about whether they exist.
What colour-coded end caps give you
Members find the right pair by colour faster than by reading a number, and staff can see at a glance when a dumbbell is racked in the wrong slot. On a busy floor that is the difference between a rack that stays ordered and one that does not.
