The closed Hex (Trap) Bar at £228 is £108 cheaper and does deadlifts, shrugs and static farmer's holds just as well. Pay the extra for this one if you want loaded carries and lunges — with a closed hex bar you can only shuffle, because the frame is around you. The integrated loading jack is the other real difference: on a closed bar, changing plates means tipping it or blocking it up, and in a commercial setting that is a genuine time cost every session.
